Cape Town is regularly voted one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Tourists are enthralled by the delights you can see and experience here, and some of the world's best chefs have restaurants here that have perfected every conceivable style of cuisine.

With the launch of City Sightseeing's new Urban Safari tour, we decided to visit the Mother City for a few days, before everyone else came for the summer holidays, and how many new things did we discover in 72 hours!

We decide - just like the city centre focus of their tour - not to move out of the heartbeat of the city: the blocks from the Castle to Kloof Street, and down in front of the Waterfront are our focus.

We park our vehicle in the City Lodge V&A Waterfront parking area and start our adventure with drinks in the beautiful bar. The past few days have been crazy and dinner at the hotel restaurant seems like the best decision we have made this week. On top of that, the wine list is also a good representation of our award-winning winelands, and the Saronsberg Provenance Shiraz is the perfect match for a pizza or steak.
